Stop Comparing - Start Being Inspired!
Let me get this straight, there is such thing as good comparison and bad comparison. Comparing yourself to others in a positive way and to the person you were yesterday is good comparison, or also known as being inspired. Bad comparison is asking yourself questions like “why are they in such a good position and I’m so far behind?”, “Why aren’t I as good-looking as them?” or “Why is it that they always seem to be on holiday why I’m stuck in the same place slaving away?” In this article, I am going to teach you how to get rid of these limiting beliefs and start your journey to GOOD comparison and inspiration, as opposed to comparing yourself negatively.
First, I am going to start with a harsh truth. If you are comparing yourself to people negatively, it is because you are envious. If you are envious, you must admit this to yourself and also admit that perhaps you are not currently in the position you want to be in, in life. Envy is one of the worst emotions that drastically limits your progress in your growth journey. And I’m not saying it’s bad to want things. In fact, it’s actually very good and very healthy. What I’m saying is, instead of complaining and looking at a person with judgement and resentment, look at them with genuine awe and congratulations that they are thriving in life. If you don’t do this, you must be aware you’re coming from your own jealous perspective. Because who wouldn’t want someone to be successful in life? Ang you may think to yourself, you know what? I want that for myself too! How can I get that for myself? What are the steps I need to take to get to a similar position like that myself? This is how you turn the very negative, limiting emotion of envy into a more positive, higher thought that can inspire you and turn you into the person you want to become.
Also, another key thing is : to focus less on others and more on yourself. If you read my article on “You attract who you are, not what you want”, you will have a greater understanding of this already. If not, definitely go and have a read. Think about it : The more you think about others and what they’re doing, the more time you are wasting on your own progress. Every day, you must get that 1% better than the person you were the day before. Every morning you wake up, you say to yourself : I am going to be better in some way today than I was yesterday. This way, you’re constantly growing and evolving and over time, you’ll see the positive impact this has on your life.
Stop comparing and start doing. If you see something you want or like, what’s stopping you from getting it? And if there is something stopping you, how can you get out of that situation so you can get what you want? Stop complaining and start figuring out ways to get that for yourself. Look to others for inspiration. If you see someone in a position you’d love to be in, ask them how they did it! There is really no excuse to not getting what you want. The only excuse is more excuses that get you nowhere. Start being inspired and grab what you want with both hands!
Hope you guys enjoyed this one!
