How to Start Anything…

Starting anything is always going to feel difficult or uncomfortable. But you aren’t here for no reason. You want to start something new, deep down and you know it, but there are multiple obstacles holding you back. First, let’s make something clear. You are so much further ahead of anyone else already. So many people never even have this yearning to start something new - to start afresh. By acknowledging this, you are already halfway there. Below, I will offer my advice on how to overcome the voice in your head that is holding you back, and grab what you desire with both hands.

1) Belief is the first step to achieving : Let me get one thing straight. It’s truly so simple but many individuals struggle to achieve it. If you do not BELIEVE that you are deserving, you will never, ever receive what you long for. Without a question. And when I say the word believe, you genuinely have to believe. Now, you may be thinking - HOW? It’s truly so very simple, if you follow this rule. You must fake it till’ you make it, as the saying goes. I do not care if you don’t feel like it in the moment, if you feel down or undeserving, you are going to ACT like you are. You must continue to do this until this way of thinking is second nature to you and most importantly, until you feel it and become it. A great way to do this is to create an alter ego for yourself. Think of your most ideal future self and all of the characteristics and traits that this person has. Even go by a different name. Once you are aware of the type of person your future self is and what their day looks like, begin to act and think exactly like them. It is like a switch inside your mind that you turn on. Once you begin doing this, over time YOU WILL BE THEM. It’s that simple.

2) No “excuses” : Too often we come up with invalid excuses that prevent us from making progress. The truth is, no person or circumstance can ever hold us back from starting something and going after our goals. The only person that stops us from doing so is OURSELVES. Trust me, I was that person. It was always : ''I have no time’’ or ‘‘I’m already doing so much’’ or ‘‘I can’t do that, what will people think of me?’’ When we put these excuses to the side, and just do what we are meant to do, everything flows to us in abundance. Because in reality, if you don’t have time, make time. You make time to have your breakfast in the morning and to watch TV in the evening for example, so make time for your ambitions and goals. Don’t let your future self look back with regret - let them look back with pride and fulfillment. You are never too old or young to start something. We are on this earth right now, we can do anything we desire. Why do we place these limits on ourselves?

3) The blame isn’t on anyone else but you : People always feel the need to put the blame on their circumstances or the people around them at a given time, but this takes away the control we have over ourselves. If we keep putting off our goals, because ‘‘oh but I don’t have the resources for that’’ or ‘‘people are so judgemental, they would just laugh at me so what’s the point?’’, that gives external sources the control over your future and success. When we put the blame upon ourselves and say instead : ‘‘Yes, I really had no excuse for not doing that, but I will start right now’’, it gives YOU the power and control.

I hope you guys enjoyed this article - these tips really helped me and enabled me to get a kickstart on my goals and push forward. Hope you are inspired :))
